“A lovely children’s book that will help encourage them to be happy with who they are. Baby bird is a wonderful character who finds his own strengths and talents after yearning to be like everyone else.” – Gillyd

He longed to be like other animals
He wanted to swim and run and jump
But he had to learn to be happy as he was…

Writers and Illustrators.
“A positive sense of self is, in my opinion, the greatest gift we can give any child,” explains the author, who was forced to retire prematurely by the onset of Parkinson’s Disease. “They need to be proud of their own unique achievements and embrace their strengths."
“Diane Hull’s animal picture book for children, Be Happy To Be You!, is a gentle and disarming fable that teaches kids to recognize and be grateful for their own gifts and skills instead of envying others’ abilities…. Hull’s vocabulary is perfect for new beginners with just enough challenge to make it exciting and fun, and enough easy words to build confidence.” – Jack Magnus, Reader’s Favorite
“Baby bird wanted to be like his friends and did not recognise his own, individual strengths until one day, he caught a cold. What a lovely way to teach young children to be happy with themselves. My children loved the story and the little baby bird” - Amy

“Jan Dolby’s illustrations make this little bird feel so real. The expressions on his face are priceless, and her line drawings are spare and elegant. As I enjoyed her artwork, I marveled at seeing how effortlessly she designed her animals, landscapes and Baby Bird. Her imaginative work is sure to inspire some creativity in just about every child who sees this book. Each drawing is an open invitation for kids to investigate their own drawing skills.” – Jack Magnus, Reader’s Favorite
